Arsenic in Apple Juice!

I am bothered by a lot of things I recently have come to learn through research, like silver fillings made out of Mercury in our Mouthes! now arsenic in apple juice that is marketed and fed to young kids as a healthy option? That's really a disgrace to the FDA for not protecting our kids.  And it is unacceptable! Testing highest in Gerber! Mothers feed this to toddlers throughout their day thinking they're making a Healthy choice.

None of the companies agreed to show their face to discuss this on the show either...they all copped out with written statements. To me, that says a lot, and I'm very disappointed. Please watch the segment, it is worth it. Makes me wonder what other hidden poisons are in my health foods, overlooked by companies and the FDA and ignored...until a "Dr. Oz" independently investigates it to light.

Main

American apple juice is made from apple concentrate, 60% of which is imported from China. Other countries may use pesticides that contain arsenic, a heavy metal known to cause cancer. After testing dozens of samples from three different cities in America, Dr. Oz discovered that some of the nation's best known brands of apple juice contain arsenic. In the spirit of full disclosure, below you'll find all the test results, statements and information you need to keep your family safe.

Apple juice made from apple concentrate is not just popular in juice boxes. Often used instead of refined sugar, apple juice is used to sweeten candy, cereals, snack bars and more. Despite its ubiquity in our country's kitchens, most apple juice is not all-American. In just one type of juice, there can be apple concentrate from up to seven countries. Although arsenic has been banned in the US for decades, it’s not always regulated in other countries where it may be in the water supply or used in pesticides contaminating the juice you're giving to your children.

The EPA has a limit on arsenic in drinking water – the level allowed is 10 parts per billion. Currently, there is no limit on arsenic in apple juice. The Dr. Oz Show tested three dozen samples from five different brands of apple juice across three different American cities, and compared the levels of arsenic to the standard for water.

Of these, 10 samples came back higher than the arsenic limit allowed in drinking water.

Note: Lab results standard deviation is +/- 20%
