I love these easy to make slippers! The tutorial had them as short slippers but I added extra length in white.
They're not so fashion forward when the white part is up resembling white socks, or worn like a boot, but it is an option!
For the second pair I used a thicker Bernat Blanket yarn with the same small hook for a tight thick ankle that doesn't need to be folded over.

Pattern
Make a magic circle and Chain 2
Do 12 half double crochet stitches
in magic circle
Chain stitch into the starting chain
stitch once you’ve come around to link the full circle.
Chain 2
2 half double crochet stitches
into each stitch all the way around
Chain 3-16
1 half double crochet stitches
into each stitch all the way around for 15-16 rows
Heal
Leave gap of 7 stitched in the
middle of top of slipper and crochet half double crochet stitches for the heal,
back and forth not including the 7 stitches for 8 rows
Do a slip stitch for half of a
row, then attach the back of the ankle by weaving end together.
After forming the heal, do one
row of half double stitch around the ankle
White ankle first pair
half double crochet stitches
for 16 rows up the ankle, or as high as you want the slippers to go, enough to
fold over nicely.
White ankle second pair
For a thicker cuff, use Bernat
blanket yarn in white and do a single stitch all the way around the ankle.
In the 2nd row start off at the back of the ankle with 1
decrease, then 3 single crochet stitches and another decrease. Then do a single crochet stitch until you're 7 stitches from finishing the circle and then so another 1
decrease, then 3 single crochet stitchesand one last decrees to end the row.
Total time – 7 hours each
