Super-Immunity + Anti-Aging

I found this seminar so interesting...it tied into everything I have been learning about raw foods and nutrition.   What first caught my eye about it was the topic of grounding, something Dr. Cassar mentions a lot but I didn't quite have a full understanding of.  A lot of things that sound crazy at first start to make sense.

This series reveals one of the most powerful triggers for weight-regulation, immunity, body fat reduction, and anti-aging... shot at the Longevity Now Conference 2010

Super-Immunity and Anti-Aging with David Wolfe

David Wolfe has spent the last 20 years teaching and traveling the world, educating people on the power of raw food, superfoods, and longevity technologies.

This is the website he refers to when discussing dairy- http://notmilk.com/
I will do a blog in the near future about information on dairy in our markets.

The Real Reason Why We Age - with Dr. Mercola

Did you know you are exposed to 50,000 times more radiation flying during the day than you experience from going through the body scanners at the airport? So fly at night if you have the option.

Telomers and their associated biology are a major part of the emerging keys to aging, life span and more importantly health span.  So what is a telomer? Simple functional definition: The biologic time clock or the fuse that represents how much life you have "burned off" and how much you have left.  When you have only 5,000 left you are dead.  As the cells divide as time goes on you lose telomeres...this begins when you are conceived.

How to Live to 150... and Beyond - with Dr. Dave Woynarowski, MD

Aging is caused by the combined by the combined effects of somatic telomere shortening, stem cell deterioration, an increased mass of sick, dead and dying cells that can no longer be repaired fast enough to keep up with the damage.  That results in the molecular biologic denetic and phenotypical presentations of aging.  In English: decreased vitality, decreased power increase fat decreased muscle mass more wrinkles less sex drive faulty memory, achy joints and generally harder time negotiating through every day life...to name a few.

Lifestyle modifications that may slow telomere degreadation
  • Diet and anything that reduces oxidative stress: Antioxidants such as fish oil, glutathione (NAC), carnosine, and CoQ10.  These 4 in particular show promise at preserving telomere length
  • Exercise
  • Sleep: massively underestimated as a health problem
  • Meditation: stress relief and mindfulness
