Natural Facial Cleanser

5 Natural Ways To Make Your Own Facial Cleanser

Raw honey
The enzymes in raw honey eat up dead skin cells and reveal your most smooth and supple skin. It’s great for people with sensitive, normal or combination skin.

Directions:

-Apply honey to dry skin.
-Leave on for 15 minutes.
-Rinse off with warm water.
-No need for post-facial moisturizer, the honey will leave your skin hydrated and soft as a baby's bottom.

Avocado
The healthy oils in the avocado soothe and moisturize dry or sensitive skin.

Directions:

-Mash up your avocado facial in a small bowl. For combination skin, add a squeeze of a lemon or lime wedge (as a natural astringent) and mix it together.
-Slather on and let your skin soak up the moisture for 10 minutes.
-Remove with warm water and a washcloth.

Again, no need for post-facial moisturizer on this one either!

Pineapple
This one’s my favorite!

For skin that needs regular exfoliation, pineapple will become your new BFF. Plus, you'll smell like a tropical drink!

Directions:

-You can use the inside of the rind of fresh cut pineapple, or small pieces of the juicy fruit.
-Apply to dry skin, avoiding the eyes.
-Leave on for 5-7 minutes.
-Rinse with warm water.

The enzymes work like little Pac-Men, eating up all the dead skin cells, while bromelain offers anti-inflammatory properties.

If pineapple is too acidic, you can try strawberries instead.

Raw egg yolk
This sulfur-rich mask is great for those with acne-prone skin. Make sure your yolk’s from a healthy, pastured, humanely-raised chicken, of course!

Directions:

-Whip yolk in a small bowl.
-Apply to cleansed face, avoiding the eyes, and allow to dry.
-Remove with warm water and a washcloth.

Cucumber
Cooling and soothing, cucumber is perfect for reducing redness, inflammation and puffiness.

Directions:

-Pulse cucumber in blender and apply to face
-Leave on for 5 minutes.
-Rinse with warm water.

This hydrating mask is especially wonderful after being in the sun.

For your eyes only; cut the cuke into discs and place over your eyes while in the bathtub, or apply while giving yourself another whole-food facial treatment.
