Mixed Bean Patty

Mixed Bean Patty

Ingredients:

1.      Mixed beans- Sprouted (such as kidney beans, lentils, chick peas etc.)
2.      1 tbsp Tahini paste (a sesame seed paste- like peanut butter)
3.      ½ Lemon juice
4.      5 Crushed garlic (or tbsp garlic paste)
5.      1 small diced red onion (very small) or half medium onion
6.      ½ cup raw sprouted ground almonds
7.      Himalayan Salt to taste
8.      ¼ tsp Pepper
9.      3 tbsp Ground flax seed
10.  Cayenne to taste

Recipe:

Soak and sprout beans for 5 days, and almonds for 1 day.
Add beans to food processor (it didn't mix well in my blender!), add lemon juice, cayenne, tahini paste, garlic, and whatever added spices you desire. Blend so there are some bean chunks (not puree, keep 24%-35% chunks).
Empty into mixing bowl.

Add onion...which are chopped very small, ground almonds (which should be raw and soaked), 3 rounded tablespoons of ground flax seed.
Mix until dry ingredients are completely mixed in.
Add pepper and salt. Mix again.
Use as much as you'd like depending on how big of a patty you want.  I made one the size and shape to fit my square raw onion bread.
Store the remaining in the fridge for the next couple days if not making right away.

Place a frying pan on medium heat.
Use a little oil if you'd like, if not you can ommit it.
Place your patty ball in the pan and flatten into the shape and thickness you desier…the size of a small frying pan is a good size if you want to top it with steamed veggies or other toppings. A thicker smaller size is good for a sandwich.
As you heat the patty, shake now and again to stop it from sticking...cook just around 3 minutes on each side, or longer if you want it more cooked.
It’s ready to serve!

Enjoy with a steamed veggie like broccoli and peas, or put in a sandwich. Please look out for my blog to morrow to see the meal I prepared with this patty:)
Soak beans for 24hrs, then sprout for 5-6 days.
