Back side.
Starting side
I decided to alter the
regular pattern I use for most of my scrubbies and use all single
crochet stitches and do an extra rim row to make it more ball-like.
Total time = 30 minutes
Pattern:
Make a magic circle
Row 1
In the magic circle chain 2, and 11 single crochet stitch
(12 total)
Slip stitch to connect circle
Row 2
Single crochet into same stitch as chain 2
2 single crochet in each stitch
Row 3 - Edge
Chain 1, single crochet stitch in the back loop only of
each stitch
Row 4
Chain 1, single crochet stitch in the back loop only of
each stitch (same as Row 3)
Row 5
Single crochet in back on each stitch for 3 stitches,
then toggle 2 (decrease) and repeat
Row 6
Single crochet in back on each stitch for 2 stitches,
then toggle 2 (decrease) and repeat
Row 7
Toggle 2 (decrease) and repeat until 5-6 stitches are
left.
Closing off
Sew or weave with hook through the tops of the remaining stitches to close up
the hole. On the last stitch you pull through, leave the loop and knot to
finish off and secure.
