My favorite way to meditate and clear my mind is using Binaural beats or better yet Isochronic tones. I recommend these most to those who have trouble getting thoughts out of their head to really deeply relax in silence. Above is a sample session about 45 minutes of binaural beats. I recommend sitting or laying down with headphone on and just relax your whole body, trying not to make any movements, taking slow deep breaths...the tones will do the rest to deeply relax you.
Common sense warnings - Don't listen to Binaural Beats while driving, operating equipment, or any other task that requires concentration. These are programed to deeply relax your mind and change your brainwaves...much like they change during sleep.
-There are also warnings to not listen to Binaural Beats if you have experienced seizures in the past or have epilepsy.
-Those with heart disorders or taking mood-altering pharmaceutical drugs should consult a doctor before trying.
How It Works
When
two tones of specific frequencies are played through headphones, the
brain can become confused and produce its own, imagined tone—a
three-dimensional audio hallucination heard only within the head of the
listener. The frequencies that produce this phenomenon are known as
Binaural Beats.
What is happening is that the brain is not used
to hearing frequencies in each ear so close together and with such
intensity—these sounds do not occur in nature and so a mechanism in our
brains has not evolved to understand them. Instead, the superior olivary
nucleus, the area of the brain which controls aspects of
three-dimensional sound perception, bridges the difference between the
varying frequencies in Binaural Beats with a common "third tone" in an
attempt to normalize this audio into something we can understand. What's
weirder is that each person hears the "third tone" differently: People
with Parkinson's disease can't hear it at all; women will hear different
tones as they move through their menstrual cycle.
NOTE: Use headphones while listening.
Binaural
beats affect our brainwaves directly and can alter moods, behavior,
even consciousness. A binaureal beat is created by playing a different
tone in each ear, and the interference pattern between the slightly
differing frequencies creates the illusion of a beat. It's intended to
be heard through headphones, so there's no cross-channel bleed across
both ears.
While listening to Binaural beats you will go back and forth from hearing 2 different tones in each ear to hearing one single tone. It's a wonderful experience that is very soothing:) Enjoy!
Recipe:
1. Preheat
oven to 350F. Mix the egg, melted cacao butter & vanilla. Add in muffin mix and blend. Mix in zucchini and stir with spoon. Then fold in chocolate chips. I added cacao powder, cinnamon and coconut crystals for a few for variety.
2. Pour patter
into 2 12 muffin tins. Bake about 18 minutes or until browned and a toothpick comes
out clean.
Mix all ingredients....folding in zucchini and chocolate chips (I did not drain the zucchini to keep moisture)
I varied the flavors, adding cacao powder to some, cinnamon, and coconut crystals

Very similar to the last kale wrap recipe with a few added ingredients...onion and home made hummus. I used my regular raw kale recipe and wrapped it into a collard green leaf
Raw Kale salad wrap Ingredients
1 large collard green leaf
Curled kale, Dino kale and Red Russian kale
1 avocado
1 organic tomato (a few cherry pear tomatoes)
half a cucumber
½ organic lemon
½ Sweet Orange Bell Pepper
Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil
1/4 -1/2 tsp of Himalayan salt
dill cucumber salad (home made relish - thin sliced cucumber, vinegar, coconut crystal and dill)
Home made hummus (recipe in yesterday's blog)
Raw Kale salad Recipe
Wash veggies and your hands
Chop up all ingredients in small pieces. No need to chop up the avocado.
Put chopped up kale in large bowl
Pour in juice from lemon, Himalayan salt and drizzle with olive oil
Massage kale until nice and soft
Then add in avocado and squish in (avocado, lemon and olive oil are all great for your skin! So dig in there)
Throw in the rest of the ingredients (tomato, cucumber, orange bell pepper and red onion) and mix up
Your kale salad is ready to eat:)
Spread some hummus, then pile in as much salad as you want and put a few fresh tomato slices and cucumber relish and wrap up. Ready to eat!
Ingredients for kale salad
Massage in the salt, olive oil and lemon into the kale to soften...then mix in the avocado with the kale until creamy, then mix in the cucumber, orange bell pepper, tomato and onion
Kale salad is ready! Eat alone, with salad (fresh spinach or lettuce)or place in wrap
Spread some hummus at the base, pile in the kale salad, top with cucumber dill relish and tomatoes
Wrap it up securely once piled up
I secured it with a toothpick while I prepared the other half of the collard green leaf
Decided to make some home made hummus for my collard green wraps
Ingredients:
1 16 oz can of organic chickpeas or garbanzo beans
1/4 cup filtered water
3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)
1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
1 teaspoon garlic/ginger puree
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
Recipe:
Drain
chickpeas and rinse. Combine remaining ingredients
in blender or food processor. Add 1/4 cup of water from chickpeas.
Blend on low until thoroughly mixed and smooth. Enjoy as a dip or in a sandwich...I used it for my collard green wraps...recipe in tomorrow's blog.
