Crochet Basket 1 - nightgown yarn

·         8 mm crochet hook or L hook

·         Yarn made out of 2 of grandma’s nightgown

Pattern:

Basket

In Magic circle double crochet stitch 12 times,

Row 2 – do 2 dc stitches in each chain.

Row 3 – do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next 1 stitch.

Row 4 - do 1 dc in every back loop (ran out of yarn…fastened on new yarn)

Row 5 - do 1 dc in every back loop (continue this pattern until desired height. 

Lid

In Magic circle double crochet stitch 12 times,

Row 2 – do 2 dc stitches in each chain.

Row 3 – do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next 1 stitch. 

Row 4 – do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next 2 stitches.  

Row 4 – do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next 3 stitches.   

I used up the trim of one of the nightgowns to make a pompom by just cutting it into small pieces and tying it together. 

*It's very easy to give the lid shape while still using the same stitch count by doing looser and tighter stitches. 

Crochet Cat Cave - Country Blue

 My little kitty testing out my sister's kitty's new cat cave ^_^

Since the material was too soft to hold up itself I opened up 2 small cardboard boxes that fit perfectly around the edges.

 I then made a circular mat for the inside of the cat cave for more cushion.

·         Bernat Blanket Yarn – Country Blue x2

Pattern:

In Magic circle double crochet stitch 12 times,

Row 2 – do 2 dc stitches in each chain.

Row 3 – do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next 1 stitch.

Row 4 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 2 stitches.

Row 5 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 3 stitches, do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 2 and repeat stitches.

Row 6 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 3 stitches and repeat stitches.

Row 7 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 4.

Row 8 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 5.

Row 9 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 6.

Row 10 - do 2 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next stitch 8.

Row 11 - do 1 dc around. (starting the opening): work 1dcs, leave 17 sts unworked, turn (do 1 dc decrease at both ends)
R12 - R14: work 1dcs back and forth
R15: [1dc in each of 7dc, dec (2dc tog in the next 2dc)] till end, join

R16 (finishing the opening): 1dc in each dc until you reach the gap, ch17, join
R16: 1dc in each dc, 1dc in each of 17ch of previous row
R17: 1dc in each dc around
R18: [1dc in each of 6dc, dec (2dc tog in the next 2dc)] till end, join
R19 - 26: continue decreasing, finish with 12 dc round, stitch up to close the circle

 

Crochet Baby Blanket 7 - Pitter Patter

·         11.5 mm crochet hook or P hook

·         Bernat Blanket Yarn – 2.5 Pitter Patter (blue, yellow, white, pink blend)  

Pattern:

Slip knot and chain 42 (multiple of 6). (It comes out to 41 stitches per row before turning as of 2^nd row)

4th chain from hook place 2 double crochet stich. 

skip a chain, 2 double crochet, skip a chain, 2 double crochet stiches and continue along foundation chain

Once you reach the end, 1 double crochet stiches in the last chain
Ch 3 and turn towards body.

1dc in first chain, skip 1 ch, 2 dc and repeat (the 2 dc should be in between two “v” stitches (not inside the “v”) from the first row.

In the top chain on the end, place 1 dc. ch 3 and turn

Continue doing a double crochet stitch around the blanket to lengthen and widen
